From School Psychologist to Advocate

After more than a decade working in schools in Chicago and Colorado, I moved to Costa Rica to pursue my passion for language, education, and living abroad. Along the way, I kept coming back to the same question: How can we make educational systems easier for families to understand and navigate?

PsychED Advocacy grew out of that question.

How can PsychED Advocacy Help You?

Does any of this sound familiar?

“My child's teacher keeps contacting me about behavior.”

“My child is struggling at school, but I don't know what to ask for.”

“Homework is a nightmare even though the teacher says they're capable.”

“Home and school are seeing completely different behaviors.”

“We're getting conflicting advice from teachers, therapists and other professionals.”

“I don't understand what all of these assessments and school documents mean.”

“I want to work WITH my child's school, but I don't know how.”

If that sounds familiar:

Let's work together to understand what is happening at school, learn ways to communicate effectively with educators, and build practical home-school strategies that help your child succeed.
